Nightclub Welfare

Nightclub Medical Cover

Nightclub life is well known across the UK for it’s alcohol fueled fun, great music and altogether busy atmosphere. While a fun environment to be in, its certainly has it hazards and can unfortunately be a magnet for drugs, anti-social behaviour and subsequent violence.

The Specifics

Event Type: Live music and nightclub venue (850 capcity)
Services: Varying medical team depending on the event
Demographic: Adult club nights, under 18 club nights, family events
Special considerations: Densely utilised, potential for alcohol and drug related issues, intoxicated and vulnerable customers.

Such venues in the UK are subject to stringent licensing laws and for the most part these un-attractive qualities (drugs, disorder) are kept at bay by effective security teams, vigilant bar staff and operational managers. Despite best efforts, there’s always the possibility of injury, vulnerability and over-intoxication. Managing these conditions is time consuming and can often lead to venue staff being pulled away from their normal duties to look after a person until help arrives, and with their limited training there is not a great deal in the way of welfare that they can provide, in comparison to a qualified medical team.

Regional Safety Group play an active role in a number of night-life venues across the south coast of England, providing medical and welfare services to the venues, their staff and their service users. We pride ourselves in our vigilance in these venues, working alongside security to prevent vulnerability and over intoxication within the venue, but also continue our work outside the venue too, identifying safeguarding concerns and turning them into a positive outcome by supporting the service user in finding safety.

We’ve had a fantastic response from customers of the venues, who have told us it brings great comfort to them knowing we are there, that we are watching and that we are a safe-space for them in a time of need.

Our medical/welfare team are a fantastic addition to a nightclub, proving great for customers, great for public relations and especially good for achieving licensing objectives when it comes to customer safety.

Does this sounds similar to your upcoming event? We’d love to speak to you and support you in planning your medical, security and welfare provisions.
